Organisations
The Welwyn Drama Festival is a member of NDFA, the National Drama Festivals Association.
Festivals
Each year, the winner of the Welwyn Drama Festival is eligible for invitation to perform at the British All Winners Festival (BAWF), a week long celebration of amateur theatre organised by NDFA. The programme includes both full length and one act plays. BAWF is usually held in July.
Hertford Theatre Week – our local festival for full length plays
Welwyn Garden City Youth Drama Festival – held in March every year, also at the Barn Theatre, the YDF is a competitive festival for schools and youth groups in Hertfordshire and surrounding counties.
Our venue
A performance space for local drama groups since 1932, the Barn Theatre currently offers a full season of 10 ‘main house’ plays performed by the resident Barn Theatre Club, as well as a Fringe Festival in September and a youth production in July.
