Having lost a couple of teams at short notice from this year’s Welwyn Drama Festival, we were facing the prospect of losing the first evening. However, the Monday evening has been saved by the Royston-based Limitless Academy stepping in with their compilation of favourite West End musicals, entitled SHOWTIME! This event, devised to celebrate the recent Coronation, played to packed houses in their own theatre, and is now available at the Barn Theatre, Welwyn Garden City on Monday 22nd May.

The Welwyn Drama Festival starts in just over a week on Monday 22nd May at the Barn Theatre, Welwyn Garden City. We have a different opening night this year with SHOWTIME!, a musical performance from Limitless Academy packed with favourite West End songs. Over the rest of the week we will see 11 plays, including festival favourites from Tom Stoppard, Gillian Plowman and Nick Warburton. Last year’s winners, SMP Theatre, are defending their title with Dead Offensive, another play from award-winning local playwright, Paul Adam Levy, and These are the Days, by Shari Gledhill.
